After going through two sicknesses and an overseas trip, I'm proud to announce that I'm back again.
I have to say that this Sec 3 camp is the best camp I've ever attended. Which other camp allows its attenders to eat at restaurants and go shopping for 3.5 hours non-stop? LOL. Through this camp, existing bonds have been made stronger, and new bonds have also been forged. It was definitely worth four days of my holidays!
I've been quite busy with lessons this week. But not to fear; the real holidays are beginning! Yesterday was the day I fell sick (again).. I had a nagging ache in my abdomen that I thought would fade with time, but apparently was proven wrong by lunchtime. Thinking that it was due to hunger, I went out for lunch with HeangGee, Lifeng and ChyiYin. But halfway en route to the coffee shop, I felt nauseous, and ran back to school. After two hours of lounging around the study area and chatting, I finally did the wise thing and went home, where I puked twice. I didn't go for cell BBQ and the string ensemble audition too. It was a perfect day gone wrong. *Sigh* Thanks to everyone who expressed concern for me. (=
=))

Began listening to The Click Five recently. I like them now. Haha. 'You've got me on my knees~!'
Most of my friends have finished their exams, but I still have Biology on Monday. Well, I'm not giving up. I'll only let go of everything when I reach home on Monday afternoon. I'll probably slump onto my comfy bed, cover the blankets over my head and not wake up till the day after. Then, on Tuesday, we'll all receive the shocks and scares of our lives when our dreaded results are revealed. Oh, the horror.
Yeah, after school, I went out with Cat Bro. We haven't went out for a super long time now. We spent our whole afternoon walking around Singapore, and as a result, my legs are aching now. At Vivocity, something silly happened to us today; The MRT speakers were blaring "doors closing!", and I got on the train without knowing that Cat Bro didn't board it. Then I turned around to see him looking at me with that trademark smile of his, waving at me from the outside of the train. That was just really stupid. LOL. Then we walked around the City Hall area. It was quite fun to watch Cat Bro being tortured by the sadistic salesman. =D Then I finally got to eat my royally belated lunch at 5pm at Popeye's Chicken and Biscuits, a fried chicken fast food restaurant that has less than a handful of outlets scattered over Singapore. We were playing with the strawberry jam, that had become so super-hard due to prolonged storage that it was even harder to dip the biscuit inside it than it is to poke it through paper. We ended up prodding the jam with our fingers, but yeah. At around 6, we ended up at Suntec City to get my mum a Mother's Day present. (And she likes it! =DD)
I haven't had such a good time with my friends recently. Today was one heck of a reminder that I'm still young. =)
And here's my hypothesis for the question that we've been discussing today; pain is a necessary evil. If you stroke a dog and it bites you, you'll learn that you should approach all dogs with care instead of rushing towards it. You'll also learn about how the dog feels about people touching it, that it enjoys people stroking its back and not its head. Same it is with people; pain is necessary for us to understand each other better, as it allows us to learn more about what we like and don't like, and through this pain, we can grow closer. After all, scar tissue grows back tougher than it was before.
However, there are two methods of dealing with pain. One; after you feel it, you heal it by talking to the other person and speaking about the things that she does that make you unhappy. This way, both parties with understand each other better, and they will grow closer and their friendship will grow even stronger. Two; after you feel it, you aggravate your wound by attacking the inflicter with hurting comments and words meant to kill. This would create an adverse effect, causing the existing wound to fester and eventually take over the limb that its on, and thus requiring an amputation of a part of your heart that you once held so dearly close to you.
I strongly believe that a good relationship is not smooth-sailing for its entire course. To me, people who flatter each other with sweet nothings and hide the things that irritate them from each other in order to avoid conflict and enjoy the pleasure while it lasts, are but masked actors taking part in mime. A good relationship is one where parties discuss things with each other, working together to make their lives thoroughly happy and not just saccharine sweet on the surface. After all, a good baby is a baby that's learnt to stand up after tripping, not a baby that's been prevented from tripping because he's always been carried and never left to walk on his own. Truly, things might get rough at the end, but it is precisely these sensations that make one firmer and stronger. Life is never sweet, but it's this bittersweet taste of it that makes it worth living.

While I was commenting on the golden photograph, I painted a motivational picture of the world at large. Walk, don't run. However, regarding this other escalator, I shall comment on the darker side of the coin. Has sloth gotten the best of us?
Look at the escalators in the first photograph. Note just how many people are using the escalators while nobody bothers to climb down the stairs, even though the escalators are crowded. Such a mundane example causes one to wonder just how reliant our people are on services that they take for granted. In the advent of technology, new inventions are being discovered every second. But, have these luxuries become needs to the point where we're incapable of survival without them? Most teenagers nowadays feel naked without their handphones by their side. Is this a cause for worry?
Also, has the overindulgence in technological luxuries brought upon us the curse of sloth? As shown from the photograph, people have become so over-reliant on escalators that they're too lazy to climb down a simple flight of stairs. Is technology bringing backsliding to our society? I hope not.
I know I once said to walk, and not run. But, for this photograph review, my tagline for today is "run to exercise!".
And and and!! I have stocks! It's been a while, huh? =3
I believe there's a secret plot between parents and toy industries to try to get their daughters to willingly take out the trash, mop the floor and scrub the toilets.
I went to Shermaine's birthday barbeque for less than half an hour yesterday. LOL. She has a beautifully decorated house, and I made a few new friends like SuEn and HuangFang. I had a great deal of fun in the limited time I spent there. =)
Two cute things hidden in a humble shoebox.
I was revising SS just now, and apparently, visiting the polyclincs is all the rage nowadays!
By the way, My father's friend from Denmark, Mr Bjorne, came to Singapore two days ago. I revised my Social Studies with him because according to him, he lives in a welfare state. And, he's very surprised by Singaporeans because firstly, people in Denmark eat at home while Singapore has multitudes of food places scattered around the country. Secondly, people in Denmark eat slowly. Ever noticed how Singaporeans eat like they're participating in some eating competition? LOL.
Being Javan's personal math consultant is never boring.
